“Reading Beyond the Lines”
As part of an enriching language and social awareness activity, our 8th-grade students were engaged in a Newspaper Article Reading and Presentation project. The activity aimed to cultivate reading habits, critical thinking, and communication skills among students, while also helping them stay informed about current events and real-world issues.
To make the experience more interactive and collaborative, the students were divided into five groups. Each group selected a thought-provoking article from a daily newspaper, which they studied thoroughly. The selected articles spanned diverse themes including environment, science, social issues, and recent events. Students were guided to observe and analyse the articles based on several criteria such as:
Headline and its relevance,
Objective and purpose of the article,
Impact on the readers,
Their own reflections and opinions,
The overall social or educational value of the article.
Each group displayed exceptional effort and creativity in their presentations. They expressed their understanding clearly, explained the context and background of the news, and shared their views confidently. Many groups enhanced their presentation with visuals like drawings, charts, or recreated headlines, demonstrating impressive creativity and team coordination.
The classroom was filled with energy, enthusiasm, and thoughtful discussion as students took turns to speak, explain, and reflect on real-world happenings. It was heartening to see how deeply students had engaged with the content and how beautifully they articulated their perspectives. The activity not only strengthened their language skills, but also nurtured teamwork, public speaking, and social awareness. It served as a wonderful example of how classroom learning can connect with the outside world in meaningful ways. We appreciate the sincere efforts of all the students and encourage them to keep exploring, reading, and thinking critically — one article at a time!

“Inspiring Session on Wildlife by Ishan Shanavas – A Journey into the Wild"
On 24th June 2025, our school had the privilege of hosting an inspiring and interactive session by Mr. Ishan Shanavas, a bestselling author, TEDx speaker, and renowned wildlife photographer. At just 14, Ishan began his incredible journey into the wilderness—tracking king cobras, documenting elephants, and exploring the rich biodiversity of India from the Western Ghats to the Himalayas.
The program began with a heartfelt welcome speech by Shresthi Ma'am, who warmly introduced the guest and set the tone for the enlightening session.
Ishan conducted a special program focusing on wildlife and nature conservation. He captivated the audience with real-life stories and valuable information about various wild animals, including snakes, birds, tigers, and lions. He also shared fascinating insights into identifying male and female snakes, drawing from his field experiences in Agumbe and Bandipur, two of Karnataka’s most wildlife-rich regions.
One of the highlights of the session was Ishan’s introduction to his acclaimed book, “The Light of Wilder Things”, a collection of thrilling stories from his teenage explorations in nature. The book emphasizes the wonders of wildlife and underscores the importance of conservation. As a generous gesture, Ishan donated a copy of this book to our school library, making it accessible to all students.
The session concluded with a fun and educational game for boys and girls, where students enthusiastically identified animals through pictures. This interactive activity reinforced the day’s learning and left students energized and inspired. The program ended on a warm and appreciative note with a vote of thanks by Sumpi Ma'am, who expressed gratitude to Ishan Shanavas for his valuable presence and for igniting young minds with his passion for wildlife.
Ishan's message was clear and powerful: “Age is no barrier to making a difference for the planet.” His journey and words left a lasting impression on the students, inspiring them to connect more deeply with the natural world and to become active participants in its conservation. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Ishan Shanavas for this memorable and meaningful session.
